The Border Space of Displaced People
No matter where they are in geographical space, displaced people can seem to exist permanently in a border space. The European Dublin regulation allows states to return asylum seekers to a country they have already passed through. These persons may be allowed to travel to a new country, but they are often not allowed to settle there and are thrust into a state of perpetual movement. No matter how far from the border they go, these people seem to inhabit a border space as if living on the border, even being the border.
