In 1972, I was eighteen and had my first child - not unusual. Most women were married before their mid-twenties so there was plenty of peer support. My parents are eighty and they're travelling in Thailand and Australia as we speak. It has popped into my head that I'm going to be sixty-three when my boy is twenty. But you know what? Maybe I've got energy from my parents.
