The Dangers of the UCC Code and the Commercial Code
Lawmakers in 20 states are working on updating the UCC code to make it easier for a CBDC to be used. Under current commercial code, money is no longer your money; it's owned by the bank. You can't put central bank digital dollars of digital fed coin into your pocket and walk out the door,. It has to be somewhere that you actually have possession of. The law doesn't allow people to download such currency onto their hard drive or something like that.
