Kiplin was asked out by a boy but her parents told her she couldn't date until she was 16. She didn't show up for any of her classes after lunch and no one noticed anything amiss till 3.30 in the afternoon. Kipling's mom dropped her off at school crying, thinking it was all drama over nothing. Her dad went to see if he could find his daughter; there were no signs that she had even been away from home. He eventually called the police who said they probably just missed her because she disappeared with some friends.
