Is There a Future for Disruption?
Given technology is changing faster than ever, should we expect disruptions to occur more often than ever before? I think that we really should be aware of that possibility. An ecological disaster can readily undermine any faith in government. The roman empire in the third century was partially shaped by the arrival smallpox epidemic. When youare watching people die all around you and you can't understand why this is occurring, it does undermine your faith in institutions.
