Investigators puzzled over the bullet's path, entering just below the right ear and ending up behind the left eye. A pillow near John's head had a tear with gunpowder in it, which means the pillow was positioned over his head and the gun was fired. Investigators didn't see it as a jewelry collection either. To them, it looked a lot more like a smuggling operation.
