The initial set of n p is that involves lock downs, or paid shutdowns, i think it was pretty effective in many places at bringing down the number of cases. But from very early on, you had narrative narratives from politicians and in media saying there is pandemic fatigue. People will no longer comply. By the winter of 20 20, going into 20 21, where we have this massive surge of cases followed by many deaths, polling data actually showed that a american supported the closures of nonessential businesses by two to one margin.
