The Nazis and the T-4 Program
Germany under the Third Reich began forced sterilization programs for the disabled in 1933. The Nazis believed that the disabled were a waste of valuable resources, merely more mouths to feed than it couldn't afford. Sterilization laws also appeared later in various European states in the 1920s and 30s. It's estimated that quarter of a million to a million disabled people were killed during that time.
