Alcohol is extremely popular in East Asia, but full-blown alcoholism tends to be a lot lower among Asian people. Of Asians living in the United States,. less than 5% are alcoholics, according to the most recent US government data that I could find. Only 4.6 of Asians living here in this booz-soaked land of ours, only 4.6% of Asians are alcoholics. Alcoholism is about 8% among white Americans, African Americans, Hispanics, double that of Asians.
