The Philistines Cried to the Ranks of Israel, Am I Not a Philistine?
David was the son of an ephrothyte of beth Bethlehem and judah named jesse. The three eldest sons of jesse had followed saul to the battle. But david went back and forth between saul to feed his father's sheep at bethlehem. For forty days, the philistine came forward and took his stand morning and evening. David said: "No man's heart will fail because of him." And he turned away from him toward another Philistine who spoke in the same way.
