Smoking Isn't Just a Drug
Tobacco is a major part of many people's daily routine, particularly their social lives. From around the 19 twenties onwards, adverts for cigarettes were colorful and elaborate. Tobacco companies knew that they were all selling the same end product but needed to persuade people that their product was unique. Cigarettes started to show up in a number of hollywood films,. smoked by some of the most glamorous actors and actresses - from james dean to audrey hatburn. They were also advertised in magazines, on the television and on the radio.
