The Importance of Secularism in Politics

I did that speech entirely free because I wanted to- I'm an educator. People who are in largely religious cultures feel like they're holding their breath. There's religion everywhere and to have someone who more lines up with their secular worldview, it's an opportunity to come out and be among friends. Secularism is built into the American Constitution. It's a bit of a scandal really, that it doesn't, that there might even be a case for a secular political party. All politicians ought to be secular. Even the ones who are religious should not be promoting religion. They shouldn't be promoting religion as part of their government legislation.
