The Orion library makes it very accessible to start using something like this in our own production environments. What I really look right now for Mooisley is a match back, a bit more safety on the rate limiting,. That's mostly the two things top of mind. And if you imagine you could totally do, like, look at your code in VS code, like right-click or use a shortcut and select a function head? Yeah, that'd be crazy.
Orion is an interesting library created by Thomas Depierre that makes it easy to run dynamic distributed tracing in your app on production! It includes a LiveView UI for visualizing the performance and running multiple traces simultaneously. We talk with Thomas to learn more about the history, the inspirations, how it works, why it's safe to run in production, how to get performance insights, and more!
