For a third year old, it doesn't sound like a million is the number. Maybe that's not what you shold for. Even at age forty, 77 % of your net worth could be from your army of dollar bills. It's actually the compounding growth. You would only have to save about 780 dollars a month for the rest of your working career to have a million dollar this assumes that you didn't really do a lot of the hard work early on in your twenties and thirties.
