The birth of a nation was the first full length narrative film, made in 19 15. Sound comes in 19 28 to revolutionize everything, music as well. This is when we have the earliest recordings of pop music. The other major thing, of course, is the the birth of the blues. And so hiwood began developing the studio system quite quickly.
