The Undying Purpose of Life

LZ Granderson: Why do we have to stay in all this pain and suffering? He says God not only calls us to himself, he calls us into his mission. "God motivates us to live a holy life through guilt and shame and fear" LZ: What we learn in this passage is that God isn't trying to guilt you into being a better person. It's like trying to blow out a fire but it's only stoking the flames.
