In Australia, it's something like 85% have under performed over 20 years. In fixed interest, it's even worse - 96%. And so investors are just playing the odds when they're investing in this. The compounding impact of those fees for people is actually enormous. They get bigger every year that you're invested in one of these funds and yet the performance doesn't seem to stack up.
