The Tipping Points of the Nine Days
Militarily, what you could probably say is the tipping point. Mary's at Framingham, which is near the Suffolk coast. Northumberland had guns being brought to him from the tower but it was going to be a very different matter trying to get Mary out of Framingham if she had guns too. The Privy Council in London turned from Wobbly to absolutely terrified. They realized the only way to save their skins is to abandon Northumberland, abandon Jane and for them to declare for Mary.
