How to Delay Things

A pin is a metal thing that can prick you and it hurts right? A pin. Why would that mean to delay something? I don't really get it. This came up because we used it in a recent episode. And maybe there's something that we can do with delaying certain things so that we can spend more time in our zone of genius.
