Is Sensationality a Valid Subject for Painting?

You have almost fallen into a kind of trap, which i didn't say, but it is there, that sentimentality is a very valid subject for rt. Always has been. It used to be used against me as an insult, that my work was sentimental. There have always been pictures of pretty children, of kittens and puppies. If i'd been younger, a couple of years earlier, it would have been harder. And but i hit that moment just at the end of the war, when grants were given.
