Chaplains organized the men, they would hand out these life jackets and lead them to a place where they could jump off. The chaplains without any hesitation just simply took off their own jackets and placed them on the next man who was waiting there. As I jumped the ship broke. A huge wave pulled me away from the ship. When she rolled, she rolled to starboard. And all I could see was the keel up there. There was one guy hanging in the back of the raft,. I don't know how long it was. But finally he was dead. We've seen bodies all around drifting. You've seen those little lights bobbing up and down.
