The Sword of Grindel
Beowulf found a magic sword in Grindel's mother's treasure pile. He used it to hack off her head, and the blood came out of his neck as he hacked at Grindel's corpse. The top of the lake bubbled with blood for hearthgar and all the people keeping a look out for Beowulf to see,. It purged all the evil creatures in the lake. So hopefully that clears some stuff up for you. Down in the cave, Beowulf sat in the dank, stinking cavern, and he saw the piles of riches, Grindal's mother's horrible corpse, and something off behind the treasure pile. And he knew what it was
