What Do You Know About Alexander?
Homer is known as the educator of Greece. Alexander obviously had a special link to the epics because he can claim to send from Achilles through his mother's line. The world of Homer is not that dissimilar to that of 4th century BC Macedonia, really. And I think an obsession with reputation and equaling those deeds of the heroes from the past was born in Alexander from a very, very early age.
