The Importance of Trauma in Life
Dang: All three of those men had had, you know, sort of death-defying experiences also. And it can't not affect you to have a constant awareness that life could just end at any moment when you're doing your profile pieces. So I couldn't meet them exactly where they had been, but at least I could understand it a little bit. They wouldn't have been able to do those things unless they had had that relationship with death and also had traumas as children.
