The Relationship Between Philip and Alexander
Philip and Alexander's relationship is quite difficult to reconstruct from the ancient sources. But early on, when Alexander emerged as the most likely heir, he became regent at age 16. A fight breaks out after Philip takes a young Macedonian wife in 337 BC. The two are only reconciled with great difficulty by a friend of the family. In those three short years leading up to that murder, it was pretty dramatic stuff.
