The typical speed of these simulations, I estimate to be roughly a thousand times human speed. So that means this economy can grow very rapidly and very quickly wages fall down to the subsistence level for these emps. Once you have a few emulations in this new world, you could make copies of them as fast as you can make more computer hardware to fill them. And then they can do as many jobs as are available. Within a few years, pretty much all humans have to retire.
