The DOJ's Ground Up Policy on False Electors
There were good reasons to hold off, but the thing that I will never understand is adopting a ground up policy for a long time. Michigan took roughly the same amount of time to bring its single false elector case as Jack Smith has taken to bring the Trump case. The New York prosecutor took basically five years to get the one case against Trump done. None of these organizations like the US Department of Justice have had literally thousands of cases to investigate. That does suggest to me that some of these cases are just pretty hard to develop and they've just taken a while.
