Rod McEwan's Cat Sloopy
Rod McEwan was a flashpoint in the battle between highbrow and lowbrow with devotees reveering his plain spoken honesty. Dick Cabot mockingly called him the most understood poet in America. Every year on his birthday he sold out Carnegie Hall. In this recording Rod's reciting his most famous and beloved poem a cat named Sloopy. He searches for Sloopy screaming her name through the dark New York City streets but he never finds her.
