The group finally arrives at the forest edge where they meet Victor, the liar wolf. Nathaniel Wick reveals his plan to take them into the forest as prisoners, with the help of Ving's old friend Wendy. They are led blind down a trail, engaged in a fight, and eventually find themselves sitting around a campfire deep in the forest.
