The idea is that by taking the money and assets of the rich in russia, the richest russians would then feel pressure. Have you seen any evidence that that's working? The oligarchs who own those superachts do not really have political power in russia any more. They were subordinated to putin personally. And they do not have any influence on his decisions. But the sanctions are really hurting ordinary russianss as well.
