The Failure of the United Auto Workers to Engage People in a Good Power Structure Analysis

I think that the position holders who were involved in the UC effort failed at the most basic level to do a good power structure analysis of what the fight was going to require. I mean, the idea that the United Auto Workers at the University of California has four different locals in one system is absurd just for starters. Secondly, that they didn't conduct the campaign. You see, you could say you're having up and bargaining, but if you are actually having off the records with the employer that no one sees, then you're not really actually having open bargaining.
