When Is It Really Useful to Think About Culture?
When is it actually useful for us to think about culture? It's useful all the time. We can have an analysis of the material and structural obstacles organizing, understand that when you organize, you've got to working people that they have a reasonable chance of winning. You're always disciplined by exhorting them and bringing them together, but around achievable ends. That means you're always constrainin what's possible ot material reality. Now that's said, it doesn't mean you can just invent militancy overnight. If you take this culture stuff to an extreme, it leads to an ultra leftismthat if we just exhort workers enough, they'll do whatever they need to do. And
