The Dialectic Relationship Between Science Fiction and Technology
There's a dialectic relationship between science fiction and some scientific or technological innovations we've seen. There are things that are imagined in sf before they appear in the material world. And i think, especially, like social media, virtual worlds is as an example that people think through quite accessibly. But if we don't think about how this might be used for repressive purposes then many of these technologies won't work.
