The Story of a Woman Crossing the Road With a Dog
I had a spinal headache due to a lumbar puncture earlier that week. I was turned away at the ER and told to return in the morning because it was late, and they no longer performed epidural blood patches. The drive home went smoothly until we had to stop at a red light. An older lady crossing the road with her dog resembled someone I knew. Maybe, just maybe, whoever was in the ground required a replacement in order to rejoin the world.
