Was this the first sexual revolution? It was. People didn't know whether they were going to survive in these dangerous times. You had families being split up, men away in the army and others sent elsewhere. And you also had a sort of entity coming that came into being called 'wartime marriages' These wartime marriages where people got together for the period o married people who had husbands wives elsewhere. They carried on as though they were marriage, but always with the understanding that it would come to an end once the war ended.
