The fed believes the way you cure inflation is not by stopping the printing press and making the dollar whole again. They believe you do it by slowing the economy down, throwing people out of work. So if theydo get their act together, were in for a rough time. We say it's now at eight point five. If you look at shadow stats that measure it the way we did under regan, it's it 17 point one.
