Asia Dawn had waited for a ring for years - so, when her long relationship ended, she was left heartbroken and suddenly questioning her entire life, including her job and the place she called home back in California, in the U.S. Suddenly, she got reconnected with an old dream: living abroad.
After the divorce, with nothing really strong keeping her attached to her home country, she saw an opportunity to pursue an adventure, so she saved money, quit her job and bought a one-way ticket to South America, where she traveled on a budget for almost a year, ending her journey in Mexico and settling there for a while. Traveling — and later living in Mexico — gave Asia the space to heal, reinvent herself, and reconnect with what she actually wanted.
But her story doesn’t stop there. Eventually, she took her next big leap: Italy. What started as a loose, flexible move turned into one of the most defining chapters of her life, especially when she fell hard for Rome and finally imagined putting down roots. Then came the plot twist: motherhood.
In this episode, Asia reflects on how becoming a mom reshaped her relationship with freedom, stability, and the idea of “home” — and why, at times, she decided to stop forcing an answer. She also shares what it’s really like to navigate co-parenting across countries, the pressure women carry to make life look “traditional,” and how she’s learning to trust herself again while building a life that still feels true.

Why the name “Transplants”?
I've always loved the meaning this word can have. To be a transplant is to carry one life while learning to live another.
