The psalms are there for a very important purpose, and that is to give us the permission to say the kinds of things that i've been talking about. You don't find s much of that in theein the new testament, and i think, in an important sense, rightly so. As jesus hangs on the cross, he cries out, my god, my god,. why hast thou forsaken me? And what's going on if you're the kind of god who says that you are?
