The Indian State, You Know?
The typical, reductive, n r i indian is not so typical and not so reductive any more. And you know this, this is starting to look a lot more like India. The rise of an ethnic state in which religion is increasingly being seen as a prism through which citizenship and belonging are defined. The absolute state, which is a kind of concentration of ex i power in the person of the prime minister and the prime minister's office. Then the last was this idea of the rise of an opaque state, which we forget that there has been a very hard fought battle with quite number of important victories towards making the indian state more transparent.
