The History of the Left in the Balkans
Bulgaria had an important socialist movement, so it figures like Demetri Blagoev. It went on to develop one of the largest communist parties in the Balkans during the interwar period. But Bulgaria has a very large Communist Party which is suppressed underground. During World War II they really struggled against what they call Monarco allied government.
