The heat wave was just the beginning. The tinder dry conditions it created, spart the worst wild fires in the province's recorded history. And the parched ground those fires left behind was primed for torrential floods in the autumn that briefly cut vancouver off from the rest of the country. I think what were seen unfold in the world was in the cards. When you looked at the long range climate forecast models, it was there. But i don't think what many scientists expected was that we could see so many of these events unfold back to back in a single r before any of us really have time to recover from the last one. We're seen that accelerate in recent years.
