The False Hope of the Coal Industry
I think we as a society have to do a better job of bridging when we have industries that are suffering and are having a hard time like the coal industry. What disturbed me was false hope, as I called it. The employment of the coal industry has been declining for decades long before President Obama came into office. My mom raised eight kids on a coal miner's pay. I've raised four kids on a Coal Miner's Pay. We know I have empathy for them. But I would, if I had to do over here in the guess one, I would make the same choice because I loved coal mining.
