The Translation of the Bible and the Prayer Book Into Welsh

In the reign of Elizabeth, we've had a great deal of religious upheaval. But Wales is still left on the outside of this. And it does seem particularly through the agency of an individual called Humphrey Loyd that they are able to advocate in Parliament for the translation into Welsh. They managed to get a piece of legislation through to translate the Bible and the prayer book into Welsh between 1563 and 1567. A remarkably erudite cleric named William Morgan produces a translation of the whole Bible in 1588.
