Why Do We Like to Get Drunk?

Alcohol is a problem for civilization, but it's also fundamental in the formation of civilizations. There are existing genetic mutations in the human gene pool that make alcohol not make you feel good. You have a little bit of alcohol, you turn red, you get heart palpitations, you feel naxeous. So we have this taste for alcohol. It gives us pleasure. But the reason it's allowed to continue to give us pleasure is it's doing something for us both individuals and as a species.
