The Importance of Mercy in Prayer

The Pharisee's way of having righteousness or being justified, it doesn't actually work. The tax collector was humbled and when he comes into prayer, he says, only God, have mercy on me, a sinner. And so here in his prayer, he's not stacking up his good things and his bad things. He's just saying, God, my only hope is your mercy.
