How I Decided Not to Go to a PhD in Material Science

While in China I was applying to the Goldwater scholarship so it's a nationally national known scholarship for people in science. It helps fund their PhD basically and also get funding for their undergraduate education. When I applied I was like okay I'm going to go get a PhD in material science this is what I wanted to do. During that applicationI realized they were not those who get to commercialize the technology and actually get it out to the world. Yeah sometimes we take it for granted I think yeah.
