Film Review - Split Screens and Freeze Frames

There were just so many wonderful incredible shots in the archive and there's only still little time in 90 minutes to show. The split screens came from just looking at French New Wave films and kind of looking at the playful nature of that but then also wanting to create relationships between images. It wasn't just like a style for style's sake. It was intentionally trying to compare or contrast multiple things at the same time. I love the wonderful use of split screens and then you have some freeze frames. There was a playful nature of it and it also showed Maurice and Katya, these two different worlds and their similarities and differences.
