Having a Conscious Practice in a Relationship
In real life you usually do have to make it conscious because you get swept away by other things and then it won't happen. In a more mature part of your relationship, basically what happens is you don't stay in functional adult so then we start with the dramas which reinforce various deficiency myths in our personality. We behave like children and we kind of project the parents onto the other person or we act like a parent towards the other person. It may be said that maybe unconsciously we choose one another so that we can enact those complementary dramas but when the dramas actually surface this is where the difficulties occur. This is reflected sexually so one of the things that we do is to actually engage people's functioning
