The Paradigm Shift in Afghanistan

CNN's John Defterios sat down with retired Gen. Brian Kirby to talk about his time in Afghanistan. He says the White House and VIPs were getting calls from the Taliban asking them to let certain people in, including the Pope. But when those requests weren't met, they would go back to the Taliban for guidance on how to get around it. The result was that ISIS fighters took control of Kabul airport during a U.S.-led military operation there last year.
