The Story of Joe and Lai Gao Ganga
Gao Ganga was a Shanxi communist from as far back as 1926. The main thing he was remembered for aside from this affair that bears his name was handing Yenan over to Mao at the end of the long march. He didn't know how to keep his trap shut and he misjudged where he stood with the capricious chairman Mao. Joe took charge of this first five year plan and in August 1952, he personally, with Chen Yun, Li Fu Chun and others, went to Moscow to see how much of China's wish list he was going to fund.
